Undergraduate Research Symposium

10/21/2017

Congratulations to our students! We reached our lab's highest record ever for posters presented at Washington University's fall Undergraduate Research Symposium. On Saturday, Oct. 21, our 4 high school students ("TERFers", Tyson Environmental Research Fellowships)  and our 4 undergraduates (Tyson Undergraduate Fellows) presented posters about the work they did over the summer.

Owen (TERF) presents his poster titled "Low plant diversity enhances arthropod transmission of viral diseases".

Anna and Nicole (TERF) present their poster on "The effects of plant diversity on pollinator visitation rates".
Picture
Genesis (TERF) explains her poster titled "Does rooting depth explain differences in soil respiration rates under past well-watered or drought conditions?

Hanusia explains her poster titled "The enemy of an enemy is a friend: effects of Pythium oligandrum on belowground plant pathogen interactions".

Picture
Aspen's poster investigates the question "Is aboveground pathogen load influenced by belowground pathogen presence, plant community diversity, or precipitation amount?"

Savannah and Erin, here with Susan Flowers, next to their poster on "The role of soil microbes and plant diversity in pollination and soil carbon sequestration under climate change".
